Lesson 1: Creation
-
The creation story begins with the opening chapter of the Bible and these words: "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." This sentence summarizes the drama that was about to unfold. Then began the seven most creative days of all time as God spoke life into existence.
-
Lesson 2: God’s Promise
-
God promised Adam and Eve that there would come a son born of a woman to deal with sin. We learn from Scripture that this son would be the son of God. In order for God's Son to live in this world, He would need a body like ours with hands, feet, arms, everything that we have. God was fulfilling His promise and Mary was to be His mother.
-
Lesson 3: Jesus’ Baptism
-
Jesus Himself said: “He that believes and is baptized shall be saved.” Mark 16:16. God’s way of salvation is still the same: first believe, then be baptized. By this act, we make ourselves one with Christ in His burial and in His resurrection, we are separated from the old life of sin and defeat; we come out of the water to lead a new life of righteousness and victory, made possible by God’s power in us. The Scriptures in this study explain very carefully, how, when and why we must be baptized.
-
Lesson 4: Jesus’ Miracles
-
During his earthly ministry, Jesus Christ performed miracles by touching, healing, and transforming countless lives. The 37 miracles of Jesus Christ that were written down in the New Testament serve a specific purpose. In this lesson we will study how each was accompanied by a message and either met a serious human need or confirmed Christ's identity and authority as the Son of God.
-
Lesson 5: The Last Supper
-
In this lesson we will study the events and meaning of the Last Supper for Christianity as a whole, and also for us as individual believers.
-
Lesson 6: Jesus’ Arrest, Death and Resurrection
-
In this lesson we will consider how the Christian faith stands on the arrest, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Without Jesus dying on the cross, being buried, and being raised by God on the third day, there would be no Christianity.
-
Lesson 7: The Holy Spirit
-
In this lesson we will explore what is undoubtedly the least understood member of the Godhead. The Spirit dwells in heaven but also on Earth in the heart of every believer. Let us consider more deeply the questions of what the Holy Spirit is, and what the Holy Spirit does in our lives.
-
Lesson 8: Salvation
-
In this lesson we will examine the concept of salvation – or being saved – which is central to the Christian faith. The concept of needing to find peace and freedom, and to be rescued from an imperfect world, is not unique to Christianity. What is unique is that humanity is rescued by God himself – because humanity cannot rescue itself. Salvation cannot be earned by behaving differently, giving money to good causes or a life full of good acts.
-
Lesson 9: Bible and Prayer
-
The Bible is God’s own Word, His great gift to all men everywhere, to help them out of their sin and misery and darkness. It will give us light, understanding, spiritual food and physical health. It will cleanse us, sanctify us, build us up, make us more like God’s own nature. Prayer is the great means by which Christians come into the presence of God, to worship Him and to receive from Him the guidance, the help and the strength which they need at all times.
-
Lesson 10: Praise and Worship
-
In this lesson we focus on praise and worship. The goal in praising and worshiping the Lord is a changed life, one that moves from being self-focused to God-focused. We worship God because He has created us to worship and because He is worthy of our love, praise and adoration.
