Who we are.
Overseas Gospel Mission (OGM) was started over 40 years ago at Horizon Church. It began primarily serving Nigeria and has since spread to many other countries in Africa. OGM was an opportunity for individuals to take bible courses via postal correspondence and has in recent years moved online. Individuals who sign up to be a part of OGM are assigned a volunteer teacher to mark and oversee their courses from the church.
Thousands of students have been able to grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus and their understanding of the Word. Many have gone on to start their own churches or have shared what they have learned with other local pastors and believers. This has been a very special partnership between volunteers from Horizon Church and the overseas students.
Gospel Foundations
The Foundations course provides a concise yet comprehensive exploration into the essence of Christian faith and values, guiding learners through the pivotal teachings and events that form the bedrock of Christianity. Each lesson serves as a gateway to understanding the themes of divinity, salvation, and spiritual transformation inherent in Christian doctrine.
Starting with the divine act of creation, the course unfolds the myriad of divine promises and interventions, highlighting the transformative life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It further elucidates the mysteries of the Holy Spirit, the essence of Christian salvation, and the indispensable role of the Bible and prayer in fostering spiritual growth and divine connection.
Concluding with insights into praise and worship, the course emphasizes the transition to a life centered around God, instilling a sense of adoration and reverence. The Foundations course is a distilled journey through Christian principles, aiming to cultivate a deeper, enriched understanding of faith and divine love.
